We go to shady Chinese restaurants. Our base of operations is in Norman, Oklahoma, so most of the places we visit will probably be in town.
It all started with Lucky Star. Located on Lindsey Street, this little gem had some of the best Chinese food in town, but you'd never have guessed it from the way it looks on the outside. In fact, from the outside, it's almost hard to tell if the place is still in business. But once you get in, the servers are nice, the food was (I'm sure we'll get to the details on why I use the past tense here) excellent, and it was all-around fun times.
Since then, we've visited (and will be reviewing) Orient Express on Asp Ave (Campus Corner area) and Little China Express on Berry, near Robinson.
The criteria we review them on include (but are not limited to): degree of shadiness, appearance of the food, appearance of the restaurant, generic-ness of the Asian food, the customers (they say you can find a good ethnic food restaurant based on whether the people eating there actually fall into that group), service, and then the actual taste. Oh, and whether or not we end up hurling afterwards. Details, details.
Hopefully we'll be updating almost every week during the school year, as long as we're all available to visit a place. Our visits are typically Saturdays at lunchtime (well, late lunch. I sort of fail at waking up early enough for a normal-person lunch). We have a few backdated entries, but it's not like anyone is reading this yet anyway, so don't expect the first few posts to be super-regular.
